my favorite shoes for traveling: Toms. absolutely the comfiest shoes ever! i wore these last year when i traveled to puerto rico and they were good for running around in an airport, and while chilling on the plane. i'm dying to get a new pair. any suggestions?
im thinking either the burlap ones or the sparkly ones! {complete opposites, i know}

today my office went to the local food pantry and helped out. that's why i am dressed down just a little bit. it was really neat to get together with my team and work in a different environment, one that helps out the community. 

i was so pumped when i found these gray cords at Daisy Exchange (a resale shop). i found the shoes when i bought the pants, and they just went really well together.

 i found this tucker for target dress on the sale rack! yippie! i thought all the tucker items were sold out. the tag said the dress was on sale for 30, but when i got to the register to check out it was only ten dollars! what a lucky day. so then i wore it later that night for my friends birthday celebration. it always feels so good to buy a new dress and wear it immediately.

when in doubt, or in a rush, i throw on this number. i spent the day running errands and this outfit is perfect. i was shopping around for my friends' birthday presents. the twins are finally turning 21! i went to a super neat flea market and ended up finding these precious decorated wine bottles:

in retrospect, i probably could have made them myself...but i didnt have that much time on my hands! they are empty wine bottles, spray painted and modpodged. here they are wrapped up and ready to go:

nail polish, F21.

growing up, i never ever painted my nails. i used to be a little thumb sucker and i hated having my nails painted. it tasted bad. i hope you all are happy to know i kicked that habit (a long time ago) and absolutely love painting my nails now. this is my current fave. the color of the polish is called 'nude' for some odd reason, but in real life, it is more of a purpley/brownish color. pretty hard to describe but i plan on keeping my nails coated in this wonderful color all winter long.

winter sure did come in quick! i just woke up and whammy!!- it was a solid 35 degrees.  i am so thankful that i caught the bus this morning, because there was NO way i would be walking to class!

i had a sushi night with the girls from work last night and it was an absolute blast! it was fun to get away from the office scene and just hang out and relax...and of course, eat tons of yummy sushi! i am new to the whole sushi-scene,  but the only thing i order is the 'philly roll' because i know i will always like it!

senior year is quickly passing by. fall semester is almost over. i want to spend as much time with friends as possible and have as much fun as i can before i enter 'the real world' (...even though i kind of am in the real world- with my internship!)

life is moving too quickly!

my life is a blur right now! it feels as if i am running a million miles a minute! i am trying to balance school, my internship, family, friends, my sorority and a handful of other clubs/organizations. not to mention my new baby- this little blog :) but, i feel as if i might have gotten off-task the past few days! this blog is about the items i OWN, and maybe a little focus on the items i WANT. so, to honor that idea- here is another outfit post!

it was chilly and rainy/misty this morning, so i picked my outfit as usual, and then topped it off with my sweet khaki trench coat. the first time to wear it! horray! and i love this maroon striped top from Kohl's...its so comfy.

my failed attempt to thrift

i spent my lunch break at the local thrift store scouring the racks for a gray tweed blazer. i came out empty handed and super sad. i absolutely love thrifting, but coming out as a failure? no bueno!

there is no way i am going to shell out $100 dollars when there is a good chance i could find it at a goodwill or possibly some other thrift store....Kendi has one that is absolutely to-die-for! seriously- click on the link and check out her adorable blazer.

working on my Christmas list. this little guy made its way to the number one spot. the color palette is to die for and that leather looks buttery-soft. its the perfect size, not too big, not to small. and it will match everything in my wardrobe.  its reasonably priced, a huge plus in my book!

yay! its our last home football game. i will be spending the entire game in the chancellors box. a huge privilege that i am blessed with through the student alumni association. i get to mingle with all the important people. its a blast! not to mention- the amazing food that is catered in! its also the best seat for watching the game, duh! 

i did it earlier this year and met some super important people- got their business cards, and followed up with them. you never know when you will run into them again or ever need their help! :) 

honestly, i am not dressed up as much as i should be for working this event- but, its really cold outside and the low for tonight is 32 degrees. whew! 

friday funday

i worked eight to five today. and guess what! it was a blast! we have a tailgate party each friday of a home game and it is always so fun to mingle with everyone at the office! we are pretty much all spread across three floors of our office building so theres a few people i never get to see!

my outfit was pretty plain until i added the fun black teardrop necklace from forever 21. i got it this summer for a whopping $4. best purchase ever. it can be thrown on with any outfit to dress it up!

today it was 70 degrees outside. can you believe it? SEVENTY degrees and its november 11! thats crazy-awesome! i loved walking around on campus, enjoying the wonderful weather and admiring the colorful trees. fall is insanely wonderful here. i also enjoyed wearing my new boots for the first time today. they are super tall, and have a red-lined zipper down the back. it just so turns out that my college's color is RED. what can i say, these boots were a match made in heaven.

have i mentioned how much i love where i work? its so awesome! i have been there since may, and it has been such a blessing. i have learned SO much. it has been such a great opportunity to get out there in the field and just dive head-first into public relations. i also work with the most amazing people ever! everyone is always in a super-peppy mood, and always happy to be at the office! its a great atmosphere.

on a fashion note- i had no idea that 'professional business-wear' could be so fun! at first, i was intimidated by suits and button-ups and slacks....but hey, i have caught on! i enjoy wearing heels every day to work! honestly, i think i work better when i am dressed up- as opposed to wearing pjs! 

thrifty finds.

i love finding good deals. if you know anything about me- you would already know that. i am a very very thrifty shopper. i love upscale second-hand shops. plato's closet. daisy exchange. those stores call my name. every week i visit them to see if they have anything good. which they always do. always. but back to my main point. i am a thrifty shopper.

i came across the michael kors watch a few weeks ago. brown and gold. tortoise shell. its gorgeous. agree?

its also priced upwards of 200 dollars. i contemplated putting it on my christmas list. then i decided to scour the web and see if there were any similar watches out there...

hello k-mart. so unexpected to see you. a trip to their store, and $15 dollars later- i was a proud owner of a look alike. 

not bad. i adore it! and it would not be the end of the world if it happened to break. i could buy 7 of these watches and it wouldnt break my piggy bank. 

on a side note- i wear my watch on the right hand because i am a very proud lefty :)

I love getting dressed up for class. I feel more productive. Its way better than going in your pajamas! I decided to swear off ugg boots and northface jackets for the rest of the semester. It might be tough when temperatures drop below freezing, and I have to walk to class!

I got tons of compliments today! A friend in the journalism hallway said, "you look cute today!" and as I say thank you, I also hear someone else saying thank you. Uh oh- this could be awkward. I turned around and it was my newsreporting professor that said thank you as well. He laughed and said- "She's always complimenting me!" -Apparently he was just joking around!!

Everyone enjoy this sunny november day! Things are about to get really chilly around here!
